- Wipe all surfaces and objects with disinfectant regularly to limit contamination spread by droplets of infected vapour falling onto things like desks, tables or telephones.
- Hands are the main pathways of germ transmission during health care. Encourage regular and thorough hand washing with cold water and soap as recommended by WHO.
- Ensure hand sanitiser is located in convenient and prominent locations throughout the workplace. WHO advises that alcohol-based hand rubs are the only known means for rapidly and effectively eliminating a wide array of potentially harmful microorganisms on hands.
- Change all standard soaps to antibacterial soap to ensure the bacteria on your hands is killed rather than just removed.
- Display posters promoting good hygiene practices and guidelines as 65% of the population are visual learners.
- Encourage social distancing and mask wearing to contribute to the decline of respiratory infectious diseases.
- Stay up to date on government advice and communicate a plan for future scenarios.
